The Last Home In Ireland
Breasty Bay Cottage - click here to see a YouTube video of the house & its picturesque environs.
This is a stunning house in a dream location, set in an area of breath-taking natural beauty on Ireland's most northerly tip – Malin Head. Look closely at the picture above - starting with Malin Head on the left, then the tower, the house itself and the secluded beach. This gem of a home is nestled at the edge of the Atlantic, with spectacular views of sea, sky and mountains. It has its own beach and the property includes acres of rolling countryside and miles of rugged coastline for exploring, fishing and shark/whale watching. It's the perfect antidote to city living, yet the nearest shop is only 5km away. It is easily accessible by car, or by bus to nearby Carndonagh, and Derry airport is only 45 minutes drive away.
Inside, the modern house has everything you could want for either a short or long-term stay. It has been decorated with love and care and special features include an automated full screen cinema with 7.1 sound system, 11,500 tune iPod, PS3 with Blu Ray and a telescope for observing the many birds of the area.
It is the ideal place to escape to for a much needed break, to complete a work project – artistic or otherwise – or for an old-fashioned family holiday with the kids.
The owner has developed an innovative audio GPS travel service which supplies details of everything you could want to know about or do in the area – from fishing in Malin Head to entertainment at The Flough in Muff. Best of all, it actually tells you stories about Inishowen as you drive around the peninsula. It is is included in the package and featured on Irish TV back in February in a segment called ‘Donegal guide to everything’.
